IC Esports Rocket League Team Fall To Ohio Northern

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The Illinois College Esports Rocket League team had less than a 24 hour turnaround in matches as IC faced off against Ohio Northern University Thursday evening in Meraki Gaming Center. The trio of Glenn Conway, Dwight Duijneveld, and Josh Hallanger fought hard and battled the Polar Bears but fell short.

Game 1: Illinois College 3, Ohio Northern 4
The opening match of the night was an offensive eruption that featured a combined 15 shots on goal and seven goals. The scoring from IC was spread evenly as each student-athlete netted a goal as Duijneveld led IC with two assists and three saves.  

Game 2: Illinois College 0, Ohio Northern 5
IC came out with a different strategy in game two but struggled to pace with the Polar Bears offensive attack and dropped the game.    

Game 3: Illinois College 1, Ohio Northern 4
In the final game of the night, Duijneveld scored the lone goal for IC that was assisted by Conway.  

Individual Stats:
For the match, Duijneveld led IC in three different statistical categories; goals, assists, and saves. Duijneveld netted two goals while adding two assists and five saves. Conway recorded a scoreline of one goal and one assist while Hallanger contributed one goal and three saves.

The Rocket League team will have a week of rest before challenging the Eagles of Ashland University on Thursday, February 29 at 6:30PM.
