Esports Valorant Team Drops Match to Southern Illinois University

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The Illinois College Valorant Esports team faced off against Southern Illinois University Thursday evening in Meraki Gaming Center. The team battled in both games as Dwight Duijneveld was the top performer with a stat line of 37 kills, 35 deaths, and eight assists. 

Game 1:
In the opening game of the night, IC was led by Duijneveld with 18 kills and a kill-to-death ratio of 1.1 that captured a 277 ACS score. Noah Horsman and Noah Postin each recorded double-digit kills as Horsman recorded 11 while Postin added 12.  
 
Game 2:
Duijneveld recorded his second double-digit kill game of the night in game two as he eliminated a team-high 19 opponents while achieving a 263 ACS score. Postin recorded his second double-digit kill game of the night as he eliminated 17 players while adding a team-high positive two plus-minus score. Horsman had a really good clutch where he killed three opponents in the span of two seconds.

"This season will continue to be really hard for us but we're going to try and compete as hard as we can in each series" said Head Coach David Seering

The Valorant team will have the remainder of the weekend to prep before challenging University of Illinois Chicago on Monday, February 26 at 7:00PM.
