Men's XC Picked Fifth in MWC Preseason Poll

GRINNELL, Iowa. - The Midwest Conference has released its preseason poll for the sport of men's cross country. The Blueboys have been selected to finish fifth in the preseason poll with 34 points.

The Grinnell College Pioneers have been selected to take first place this season and received 59 points and five first-place votes. 

Illinois College returns two All-Conference honorees in Devin Boggs and Elgin Scherff. Last season at the MWC Championships, Boggs led the men with a 10th place finish individually with a time of 26:33.99 which is currently the fastest time in IC school history in the event whie Scherff finished in 17th place with a time of 27:03.09. 

The Blueboys are lead by first-year Head Coach Anthony Flores.

Illinois College will open their 2023 season on the road participating in the H.W. Wright Classic hosted by Millikin University on September 1 at 6:05 p.m. in Decatur, Illinois.
