Men’s 4x200 Team Wins Heat at Drake Relays
DES MOINES, Iowa – The Illinois College men's and women's track teams were able to beat the weather and complete their events during the Drake Relays on Friday at Drake Stadium.
Highlighting the IC performance on Friday was the men's 4x200 meter relay team of Jaden Saunders, Carter Wasson, Miles Weddington, and Dylan Doss which won its heat in a time of 1:28.24.
Immediately after the Blueboys completed their heat, the meet was stopped due to severe weather in the area. Drake officials will try to complete the college and university portion of the event tonight if the weather clears. If not, the remaining heats will be run Saturday morning to determine Saturday's finalist.
Earlier in the evening, the 4x200 meter relay team of Mattie Brown, Mady Salisbury, Haley Garrett, and Deja Anderson finished third in its heat, posting a time of 1:44.17.
The morning session saw the 4x100 meter relay team of Brown, Salisbury, Garrett, and Anderson finish sixth in its heat in 48.08 seconds.
Action will resume on Saturday with the Shuttle Hurdle Relay team of Austin Robinson, Nathan Barth, Jackson Lee, and Adam Hernandez scheduled to compete at 12:22 p.m.
