Three Titles for IC at the Fighting Scot Invitational

MONMOUTH, Ill. – Two individuals and a relay team brought home first-place finishes for the Illinois College women's track and field team at the Fighting Scot Invitational on Saturday at April Zorn Memorial Stadium.

Individually, IC got a title in the 100-meter hurdles from Aleese Trimingham who finished in 15.88 seconds. Teammate Patricia Rivera came in fifth in 17.80 seconds. 

Keyleigh Thomas won the javelin with a throw of 34.41 meters. IC's Carson Beyers finished fourth with a mark of 32.43 meters.

The Lady Blue relay team that broke the tape first was the 4x100 team of Mattie Brown, Mady Salisbury, Haley Garrett, and Deja Anderson who clocked a 47.97-second performance.

IC went 2-3-4 in the 100 meters as Anderson (12.25 seconds) took second, Brown, (12.37 seconds) was third, and Garrett (12.43 seconds) was fourth.

Maddie Benson finished second in the pole vault, clearing 3.15 meters while Paige Nowak was third after making it over 3.00 meters.

IC's Sydney Kuper had a pair of third-place finishes in the discus (38.82 meters) and hammer throw (46.68 meters) respectively.

Salisbury also took third in the high jump, clearing 1.38 meters.

Anderson was fourth in the long jump with a leap of 5.20 meters as was Trimingham in the 200 meters with a time of 28.04 seconds. Lindsey Ruff was fifth in the shot put with a mark of 11.27 meters.

IC will be back on the hilltop next weekend as it plays host to the 2024 Midwest Conference Championship at England Stadium on Friday and Saturday.
