Lady Blues Golf Conclude Action At WashU Invite

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Illinois College women's golf team concluded action at the two-day Washington University Invite Sunday with the final round at Crescent Farms Golf Course. On the opening day, the Lady Blues tallied a team score of 357 and eliminated three strokes on day two for a team score of 354. For the tournament, IC recorded 45 pars and five birdies. 

Day 1: 

For the opening round, the Lady Blues were led by Alyvia Burr a 11-over par 83 where she shot two-over par on the final nine holes. For her first round, Burr recorded five pars and two birdies; holes one and four. 

Katie Mae Milhiser recorded the second lowest score for IC for the day with a score of 89. In her round, Milhiser tallied three pars and a birdie on the par three third hole. First-year Shelby Seiler played a bogey-golf round as she recorded a score of 90 that included five pars. 

Also contributing to the team scores was Hannah Harpster and Emily Guest with rounds of 95 and 100 respectively. In the opening round, Harpster recorded four pars while Guest earned two. 

Day 2:

On day two, IC was led by Burr with an identical round of 83. In the second round, Burr tallied six pars and two birdies on holes nine and 15. Milhiser improved four strokes from day one and turned a final round of 85 while leading IC with a team-high seven pars.

The Charleston native in Harpster also improved four strokes from day one as she recorded a final round of 91. For her round, Harpster recorded five pars and seven bogeys. Rounding day two for IC was Guest and Seiler with rounds of 95 and 104 as Guest earned five pars.  

The Lady Blues will rest tonight before hosting the Country Club Classic on Monday, April 8 at 8:00 AM at the Jacksonville Country Club.
