IC Women's Golf Remain In Fourth Place After Day Two At SLIAC Championships

METAMORA, Ill. - The Illinois College women's golf team continued action at the SLIAC Women's Golf Championships with the second round on Monday. The Lady Blues finished the day with a team score of 344 which currently stands in a two-way tie with Mississippi University for Women for fourth in the overall team standings.

On a chilly and windy day, the Lady Blues were led by Alyvia Burr with a round of 83 with splits of 40 and 43. Burr started the second round with four pars in the first five holes. Burr was able to par three holes on the back-nine. With the combination of both rounds, Burr has a total score of 171 which ranks 25th-overall individually. 

Hannah Harpster closely followed Burr with a round of 86 with splits of 42 and 44. Harpster led the Lady Blues with two birdies as her birdies came on holes eight and 16. With a combined score of 177, Harpster currently stands in 33rd-place individually. 

Katie Mae Milhiser (87), Kate Burr (88), and Amy Fowler (91) contributed to the team score. Individually, Emily Guest and Shelby Seiler each fired rounds of 90 as Seiler recorded a birdie on hole 12. 

Kate Burr battled the weather conditions and shot a round of 88. With an overall score of 164 after two rounds, Burr currently ranks 17th-overall in the championships. For the day, IC had three birdies and 49 pars. 

"With the tough weather conditions, our team continued to fight and persevered through it" said junior Amy Fowler.

The Lady Blues will conclude the SLIAC Women's Golf Championships with the final round on Tuesday, October 10 at 10:00AM in Metamora, Illinois.
