IC's Kate Burr Earn Second-Team All-SLIAC In Women's Golf
ST. Louis, Mo. - The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has released their end of season awards for the sport of women's golf. IC's Kate Burr was selected to the Second-Team All-SLIAC team after her fantastic performance at the SLIAC Women's Golf Championships this week in Metamora, Illinois.
Burr led the Lady Blues with an overall score of 243 that included an opening round four-over par 76 where she added two birdies. Burr battled the tough weather conditions on day two as she shot a score of 88. In the final round, Burr improved nine strokes and shot a seven-over par of 79 that included a birdie on hole 16 and 10 pars.
"I was surprised to hear my name called for second-team all-conference because I was not sure I stood on the leaderboard. It was a very exciting afternoon to say the least" said Burr.
Burr finished the championships with two rounds under 80 that earned a 14th-place overall finish. This is the second year in a row Burr has earned All-SLIAC honors.
"I am very happy for Kate and the way she persevered through tough conditions. She drove the ball excellent and her talent really showed this week" said Head Coach Josh Edison.
The Lady Blues have officially concluded the 2023 season and look forward to the spring season in 2024.
