Lady Blues Soccer Fall at Lake Forest

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Lake Forest made an early goal stand up and topped Illinois College, 3-0 in a Midwest Conference match Saturday at Farwell Field.

With the victory, Lake Forest improved to 8-3-5 overall and 6-0-1 in conference play while the Lady Blues moved to 5-8-2 and 1-3-2.

The Foresters got on the board just 3:11 into the match when Greta Gerard found the net. The score would prove to be the only tally of the half.

Lake Forest added a pair of insurance goals in the second half. Ella Manthey scored at the 50:26 mark and Rosalie Wisniewski closed out the scoring at 71:47.

The IC offense recorded three shots on the day, including shots on goal from Olivia Ralston and Darian Blackburn. Erin O'Connell had the other shot by the Lady Blues. Sophia Kriegesmann collected nine saves in net for IC.

The Lady Blues return to action Tuesday when they host Cornell College in a Midwest Conference match at England Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 4:30 p.m.
