Lady Blues Tennis Dominate Owls For Eighth Win Of Season
JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The Illinois College women tennis team continued its six-match homestand by hosting the Owls of Mississippi University of Women Friday afternoon at Bellatti Tennis Complex. The Lady Blues displayed dominance in both doubles and singles matches that led to a 9-0 shutout victory. With the victory, this marks the eighth win of the season.
The Lady Blues got off to a fantastic 3-0 lead by winning all three doubles matches. In the No. 1 double match, the duo of Michelle Maag and Lily Ingram eliminated their opponents by the final of 8-2. The No. 2 doubles duo of Hannah Lueke and Sabrina Ingram erased their opponents by the final score of 8-1. The No. 3 doubles team of Chloe Plough and Madison Eastin also defeated their opponents by the final score of 8-1.
In singles matches, IC dominated all six singles matches by the final scores of 6-0 and 6-0 that helped lead to the shutout victory.
The Lady Blues will have a 19-hour layoff before hosting the Gorlocks of Webster University on Saturday, March 23 at 9:00AM.
