IC Women's Tennis Drop Home Match To Webster

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The Illinois College women's tennis team concluded its five-match homestand by hosting Webster University Saturday morning at Bellatti Tennis Complex. The Lady Blues battled tough competition and fell by the final score of 1-8. 

The Lady Blkues got off to a rough 2-1 start in doubles competition. In the No. 3 doubles match, the duo of Madison Eastin and Chloe Plough went point-for-point with their opponents. Eastin and Chloe forced a tiebreaker set where the duo out-edged their opponents by the score of 7-3 to win the only set on the day.

In singles matches, the Lady Blues forced three tiebreaker sets in the No. 1, No. 3, and No. 4 matches, In the No. 1 singles match, Michelle Maag won the first set by the score of 6-4 but dropped the set second by the score of 5-7 that forced a tiebreaker set. In the tiereaker set, Maag battled but dropped the match by the final of 6-10. 

In the No. 3 singles match, IC's Lily Ingram won the opening set by the final of 6-4 but dropped the second set by the score of 3-6 that forced a tiebreaker set. In he tiebreaker set, L. Ingram battled fiercely but dropped the match by the final of 8-10. 

In the No. 4 singles match, Eastin won the first set by the final of 6-2 before dropping the second set that forced a tiebreaker set. In the tiebreaker set, Eastin got in a early deficit and dropped the match by the score of 3-10. 

The Lady Blues will take a night's rest before traveling to the University of Olivet on Sunday, March 24 at 2:00PM in Minooka, Illinois.
