Lady Blues Roll Past Monmouth
JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – Illinois College used a balanced attack to post a 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-8) sweep of Monmouth College in a Midwest Conference volleyball match on Friday at Sherman Gymnasium.
The win moved the Lady Blues to 14-12 overall and 6-1 in MWC action. The Fighting Scots dropped to 10-13 and 4-3.
IC had a balanced offensive attack paced by Paige Knuffman who recorded a match-high 14 kills. Ligaya Garibay added 10 kills while Laura Kaiser added nine to go with her .533 hitting percentage. The offense was guided by Summer Brandis who handed out 39 assists.
The Lady Blues defense was anchored by Jen Humbolt's 21 digs.
IC will be in action again on Wednesday when Greenville University makes a visit to Jacksonville. The first serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
