Lady Blues Tennis Cruise Past Olivet In Dual Match
MINOOKA, Ill. - The Illinois College women's tennis team traveled up Interstate 55 and faced The University of Olivet for a dual match Sunday afternoon at Minooka High School. The Lady Blues dominated the match and cruised to a 8-1 victory.
IC got off a a fantastic 3-0 lead by winning all three doubles matches. In the No. 1 doubles match, the duo of Michelle Maag and Lily Ingram had their hands full with their opponent as the match was contested very closely. The IC duo used a late set rally to defeat their opponents by the score of 8-6. In the No. 2 doubles match, Hannah Lueke and Sabrina Ingram conquered a 8-4 victory. The No. 3 doubles IC's Madison Eastin and Chloe Plough dominated their opponent and won the match 8-1.
In singles matches, IC continued to play aggressive and won five-of-six singles matches. In No. 1 singles, Maag challenged her opponent fiercely with a 6-4 opening set victory. In the second set, Olivet's Rylee Lewis took the set and forced a tiebreaker set. In the tiebreaker set, Maag got off to a early lead and paced to a 10-6 match victory.
In the No. 3 singles match, L. Ingram dominated her opponent by final scores of 6-1 while her sister S. Ingram cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 5 singles match victory for IC. In the No. 4 singles match, Eastin sharpen her arsenal by defeating her opponent 6-2, 6-3.
The Lady Blues will return to the court on Wednesday, April 3 hosting Greenville University at 5:00PM in Jacksonville, Illinois.
