Women's Tennis Fall To Greenville In Home Match

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The Illinois College women's tennis team continued its 2024 spring schedule with a non-conference match against Greenville University in King Fieldhouse. The Lady Blues fell to the Panthers by the final score of 3-6. With this match complete, the Lady Blues stand at 5-3 so far this spring. 

IC got off to a solid start in doubles competition winning two-of-three matches. In the No. 1 doubles match, Michelle Maag and Lily Ingram battled their opponents closely and forced a tie breaker set. In the tiebreaker set, the duo went point-for-point but dropped the match by the score of 4-7. 

The No. 2 doubles team of Hannah Lueke and Sabrina Ingram got off to a early lead and paced to a 8-4 victory. In the No. 3 doubles match, Madison Eastin and Chloe Plough battled their opponents to a 8-5 victory. 

In singles matches, the Lady Blues struggled and dropped five-of-six matches. IC earned the lone singles match victory from S. Ingram as she defeated her opponent in straight sets by the score of 6-4 respectively. 

The Lady Blues will host Principia College on Tuesday, April 9 at 5:00 PM at Bellatti Tennis Complex in Jacksonville, Illinois.
