Claire Scully Named Women’s Volleyball Head Coach

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – Claire Scully has been named the Head Women's Volleyball Coach at Illinois College, it was announced today by Athletic Director Meghan Roman.

"We are excited to welcome Claire to the IC family," Roman said. "We believe she brings a tremendous knowledge of the game as well as a passion for mentoring our student-athletes. We look forward to watching her grow the Lady Blues volleyball program."

"I am grateful for the opportunity to be the next head volleyball coach at Illinois College," Scully said. "I would like to thank Meghan Roman and the entire search committee for their confidence in me and most importantly in the future of Illinois College volleyball." 

Scully comes to the Hilltop after working as an assistant coach for the Washington College women's team for the past two seasons. During her tenure with the Shorewomen, the team won 18 matches and achieved the AVCA/USMC Team Academic Award. Scully also served as the social media coordinator for the athletics department.
 
Prior to joining the Washington College staff, Scully was as assistant coach at William Paterson University in 2021. She helped guide the team to a NJAC playoff berth and had multiple players earned weekly conference honors.
 
Scully was the head coach at Mount Saint Dominic Academy (2019-21), Golda OCH Academy (2017-18) and Atlantic Valley Volleyball Club (2018-21). She was also an assistant and head coach for Phoenix Volleyball NJ (2013-18) and has served as a site director for GEVA High Performance Volleyball (2017-21).
 
As a player, Scully was a four-year member of the volleyball team at Mount Saint Mary College and earned a bachelor's degree in history from the school in 2017.
